Welcome to the 2005-2006 Skating Season and a new membership year. Founded in 1995, under the name of South Florida Silver Blades FSC, our club has been an important catalyst in the development of figure skating in South Florida. After a year that brought us many hardships we are still here and with the support, and direct advice, of our mother organization U.S. Figure Skating, this year we return with the opportunity of a new beginning; with a new board of directors, a new name, a new slogan, and a new logo; in other words a completely new image full of hopes, dreams and new ideas. With this new opportunity it is extremely important to understand that “being a club member” does not merely mean receiving benefits. We want you to get involved! Our club needs you, and any ideas you can provide.

We Are Taking A New Turn in Life!
Skating Club of South Florida, Inc. is taking a new turn in it's life. Throughout the past few years we have seen and experienced, first hand, the good and bad things about our beloved sport. We were quite successful, but we also learned what struggle is, for that reason we underwent a major change last year, and even though many people though we will just "give up," WE ARE STILL HERE! Now, once again, and like the Phoenix, we will raise from the ashes with a new purpose in life! The most important part of this change will be our focus on education.
With the growing number of new clubs all over the nation, we feel that we should not put ourselves in position of competing against this overwhelming growth, but instead embrace it and move forward by focusing our efforts in those who will need more assistance or feel a bit out of place in our sport. For that reason, although we will continue serving the skating community in general, Skating Club of South Florida will be focusing all it's experience and resources on Adult and Collegiate Skating.
If you feel you belong in any of this two groups, then you should become a member of Skating Club of South Florida, Inc.. Our Club is a permanent member of U.S. Figure Skating and because of this sanction we are able to organize testing sessions and competitions. Also, by joining us you become part of an ever growing skating family.
We are a growing family, and we want YOU to become a part of it! Soon after you join, you will start receiving issues of "Skating Magazine," full of articles and information about competitions, and your favorite skaters. You'll even see your name printed after passing any of the U.S. Figure Skating Tests and you will be entitled to many other Club benefits by becoming a member.
As always, and unique in its format, our Club will continue to incorporate members from all over the State of Florida, other from out of the State, and even some International members!
